The Haynes 230 bar is composed of 57% nickel, 22% chromium, 14% tungsten, and 2% molybdenum, along with trace amounts of iron, manganese, silicon, and cobalt. This alloy boasts a tensile strength of about 760 MPa and a yield strength of 365 MPa, along with excellent creep and rupture strength at high temperatures. Its high chromium content ensures remarkable oxidation and nitridation resistance, while tungsten and molybdenum contribute to solid-solution strengthening. Haynes 230 also offers great weldability, stability against grain growth, and exceptional thermal fatigue resistance, making it a preferred choice for components facing extreme heat, corrosive conditions, and rigorous operating environments.
